Guatemalan Textile Clutch- Pink, Yellow, and Royal Blue

Erick

Based on ancient Mayan spinning and dyeing techniques, Guatemalan textiles are an enduring link to a rich cultural past. Weavers today (mostly women) still derive colors for their threads from vegetable and mineral substances. The Mayan loom - a back strap loom- is still the method of weaving used today. With skill and creativity, these Mayan weavers preserve their traditional craft techniques while creating an income for their families.

At Larkin Lane, Lark hand selects each silk from the Guatemalan artisans themselves. It is an honor to support this centuries-old craft and bring it to the modern woman's wardrobe!
